Guto Barra, Director of Post Production, Snippies
Guto Barra
Guto Barra graduated in Journalism at the Catholic University of São Paulo and, in 1993, went on to be a cultural reporter at “Folha de S.Paulo”, Brazil’s largest daily. He relocated to New York City in 1997 to run his company Planet Pop, which quickly became one of the main entertainment news sources for major Brazilian media outlets such as Vogue Brazil, MTV Brazil, Globo Networks, Terra Networks and many others. He interviewed music and film artists such as the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Prince, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg and many others.
In 2003 he directed and produced his first feature-length documentary, “Clash of Cultures”, an investigation of the New York Electronic music scene. Featuring Scissor Sisters, Peaches, Fischerspooner and Ladytron, the film was acquired by MTV Brazil and released as a DVD+CD package in South America by ST2 Music. Guto worked in the acclaimed documentary “En Route to Baghdad”, about the late UN Ambassador Sergio Vieira de Mello, and was a consultant producer on the PBS series “Energy E2”, produced by kontentreal films and narrated by Brad Pitt. With Art Director Giovanni Bianco, he worked on the production of visuals for Madonna’s “Re-Invention Tour 2004″.
He joined Snippies as Director of Post Production and Senior Producer in 2006. Last July, Guto’s second documentary, “Beyond Ipanema”, had its World Premiere at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York City. Featuring David Byrne, M.I.A., Devendra Banhart, Caetano Veloso and many others, the film analyzes the influence of Brazilian music on American culture. Shown in festivals in North and South America, Europe and Asia, it has received praise from the Chicago Sun-Times and The Huffington Post.
Jeanne Finnerty, Director of Production, Snippies
Jeanne Finnerty
Jeanne has over 20 years of experience in television production in both the private and public sectors. She started her career in live television broadcast and went on to work for Public Television on numerous programs, including the two- time Emmy-winning production “Live From Lincoln Center”. In 1997 she launched her own company, Good Girl Productions, which developed television commercials for Avon’s global market. She has also produced marketing videos for companies such as AXA Financial and Guardian Life Insurance. Jeanne created projects for non-profit organizations like The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation, The Boys and Girls Club of America and numerous cultural institutions. She also has produced independent documentaries on a variety of subjects, along with social awareness programs and educational projects.
Jeanne brought her production expertise and business acumen to Snippies in 2002, and has since played a key role in developing the company’s business. In her role as Chief Creative Officer and Director of Production, Jeanne produces, and oversees multi-media projects for Fortune 500 clients such as Google, Microsoft, J&J, Kraft, Pepsico, PwC, Y&R. She endeavors to continually expand clients’ knowledge and effective use of video production technologies. Jeanne’s understanding of different demographics, along with her technological foresight, help to keep Snippies and its clients one step ahead of the trend curve.
Kenie Huber, Producer and Social Media Strategist, Snippies
Kenie Huber
Kenie Huber has been working in video and multimedia since the age of 5, when she used her parent’s video camera to shoot and edit her first film. From there she went on to work as a student producer throughout middle school and high school for both schools’ respective TV stations, as well as the FOX affiliate in Tampa, FL, FOX 13.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2006 from Marymount Manhattan College, where she majored in Communication Arts with a concentration in Video Production. Shortly after graduation, Kenie came on-board with Snippies and has worked with the company in various capacities ever since, including shooting, producing, and editing. Most recently, Kenie spearheaded a social media effort and gave Snippies a virtual presence in order to better connect with their audience.
Kenie has lived in Austin and San Francisco, but currently resides in New York City, the place she calls home. She also develops personal photography and art projects, and researches new media and design.
